    Software Engineer - Bristol

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our clients growing team, developing innovative software across desktop, embedded and cloud platforms.

You'll work on technically challenging products combining software, hardware and intelligent data processing, with applications across computer vision, precision measurement, AI, high-performance computing, IoT and sensor integration.

This is a varied role where you'll be involved in designing, prototyping, implementing and testing solutions alongside a multidisciplinary engineering team.

    What you'll be doing:

    • Develop software primarily in C++ across a range of platforms.
    • Design and implement algorithms for data processing, measurement and computer vision.
    • Integrate software with cameras, sensors and other hardware.
    • Prototype and evaluate new technologies and approaches.
    • Work closely with software, hardware and mechanical engineers.
    • Test, debug and continuously improve software and development practices.

What our client is looking for:

    • Strong C++ and object-oriented programming skills.
    • Good mathematical ability, including vectors, matrices, transformations and trigonometry.
    • Degree qualified in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, creative approach to technical challenges.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
    • Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new technologies.

Desirable: C# / Blazor, computer vision, image processing, AI, embedded software, high-performance computing or hardware/sensor integration.

You don't need experience in all these areas - strong software fundamentals and a willingness to learn are more important.

    What our clients offers:
    • 35,000 – £45,000 salary, depending on experience.
    • 25 days' holiday, increasing with service up to 30 days.
    • 12 additional paid "Odd-Job Days" per year following probation.
    • Company pension scheme.
    • Supportive, collaborative working environment.
    • Opportunity to work on varied and technically challenging products.

Interested? If you're a software engineer who enjoys solving challenging problems, working with new technologies and seeing your code become part of real-world products, we'd like to hear from you.
