CNC Machinist

Full Time, Permanent.
37 hours per week
Hourly rate: £25.33 an hour (basic + shift included in rate)
- Nights: Sun 10.30pm to 6am (Mon to Thurs 10pm to 6am)
- Lates: Mon to Thurs 2pm to 10pm (1:30 to 9pm Friday)
- Earlies: Mon to Fri 6am to 2pm (1.30pm Friday)

Role Overview
Set up and operate CNC machinery to manufacture high-precision components in line with engineering specifications, quality standards, and production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC milling, turning, and/or mill-turn machines using proven programs
- Support program proving, tooling validation, and new process introduction alongside engineering teams
- Perform minor CNC program edits where required
- Produce first-off components for inspection and liaise with quality to resolve issues
- Work to defined inspection plans and quality requirements
- Capture production and process data (e.g. SPC, OEE)
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities
- Train and support colleagues as part of a multi-skilled team environment
Requirements
- Proven experience in CNC machining of high-precision components
- Experience with milling, turning, and/or mill-turn processes
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls
- Background in low-volume, high-value manufacturing environments
- Ability to work with a range of materials including solids, castings, and forgings
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Additional machining skills (manual machining, grinding, EDM, etc.) are an advantage
